I am a member of 6 LCA class in which there are 11 students from the age of 16 to 18. The leaving certificate applied is a distinct, self-contained two-year programme aimed at preparing students for adult and working life. The programme puts an emphasis on forms of achievement and excellence, which the established Leaving Certificate has not recognized in the past. 

the year is split into 2 different modules and the first one is from sept to 31th January 2001 and the second one from 1st Feb to the end of the school year. The subjects are i.t., Construction, maths, Irish (one year only), French (one year only) English, Social Education, VPG, Religion, Art (one year only) and Physical Education (one year only). There are tasks, modules and key assignments to be done and credits are given for them. students need 90% attendance to get there credits .Students have to do Work Experience as part of their key assignment.
