First Year Science Projects

 THE PLANETS

By Andrew Harley,Owen Hempton,Sean Mongey, Stephen Monney, and Nicholas Hanlon

We did our project by looking up Encarta on the computer, and by reading an Encyclopaedia, and by taking down information from both. When we had done that we wrote it out on the computer in our own words. The pictures we used were also taken from the computer. This is our finished project and we hope that you like it.

DINOSAURS

By Paul campbell, Darren Carrick, Adam Kane, and Paul Donlon.

For our project we did Dinosaurs. We got our information from books, computers, and magazines. We typed up our information, which we rewrote form our resources. We then backed it onto a sheet and decorated it. Then we sorted our information into three small books. We stuck it up on to the wall of our school for the rest of the students to see.

SPACE TRAVEL

By Mark Dolan, and Padraig O`Conor

First we went into Encarta to research the project. At first we had only pictures so we had to work around them. Then we started added writing and sticking our project together. Our project consists of A book, the Planets, Rockets, Satellites and Astronauts

PLANETS

By Jonathan Flynn, Jamie McEvoy, Shane Comerford, and Conor Nolan

First Shane went to Encarta 98, and got information and pictures about all the planets in the solar System. We all went to the Library in the school and took out books with a lot of information. The main book we used was "The Gobsmacking Galaxy" That book gave us the facts about the planets. We rewrote the information in our own words. We cut out pictures and glued them to the bottom of the pages. Then we got all the information and glued it to a huge sheet. We cut some stars in pink and yellow. That's how we did our project.

 PLANTS

By Sean Vickers, Gary Brennan, Aidan O`Halloran, and Alan O`Connor

We got our information from the P.C., from our Library books, our Science books, and what we already knew. We wrote what we knew, and we stuck it on to a big page, drew a few diagrams, and we made the Headings and stuck it onto the wall.

AUTOMOBILE

By David Elebert, Mark Walsh, Eamonn Bermingham, and David Scott.

We got most of our information from Encarta 95. The rest we got from books and magazines. We cut out all the pictures and the writing, and stuck them on to a big A1 piece of red paper. And we cut the sides off with a blade.

THE HUMAN BODY

By Barry Fitzgerald, Eoin Cleary and Robert White

We got the information from Encarta and our Science book " Science Quest". The main features of our project were - the Brain, the Lungs, the Heart, the Skeleton, and the Joints.

SPACE

By Ian McEnerney, Joseph Lacey, Robert Flanagan, and Karl Walsh

First we got the heading by writing SPACE in oblique writing. Then we did a Sun coming up from the horizon of the word SPACE. We printed out pictures and wrote things from books. We got information from books and rewrote it in our own words. After that we got some pictures printed out of the planets. As we went along we got more information and added on more space by adding on more paper at the end.
